Team St John’s are set to run the 2017 Bath Half Marathon to raise funds for the Action Against Child Poverty (AACP) campaign, but with 10 days before the race, they need your help to reach their £5,000 target.
Fifteen members of our staff are running and they will be joined by local MP, Ben Howlett, one of AACP’s founders. The team have been training since last year, and have picked up the pace in preparation for the Half on 12 March.
Now in the last leg to raise £5,000, the team are encouraging friends, family, colleagues and local supporters to donate to their Just Giving Page – which has received over £2,000 in donations so far.
Our CEO Sue Porto, who is running for Team St John’s, expressed her hopes for the team
“We hope that Team St John’s will not only help to raise vital funds for AACP, but also increase community awareness of the hidden poverty that exists across Bath and the surrounding area”
All funds raised will go to supporting programmes that will be delivered as part of the Action Against Child Poverty Campaign*, which aims to significantly reduce the effects of deprivation across Bath and the surrounding area.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. If you would like to support Team St John’s and the Action Against Child Poverty Campaign, head over to the Just Giving Page.
*AACP launched in 2015 when data revealed that 1 in 5 children live in party across B&NES. St John’s, together with 50 local organisations, are working in partnership to reduce the effects of deprivation for children and their families in Bath and the surrounding area.
