All of the latest news, information and events from St John’s, encapsulated in one easy-to-read, attractive e-newsletter. The Beacon is a celebration of the impact our work has on people, enterprises and communities, reflecting our history since our foundation in 1174, what we do today, while looking ahead to our exciting plans for the future.
The Oxford English Dictionary defines a Beacon as ‘A fire or light set up in a high or prominent position as a warning, signal, celebration or a source of light or inspiration.’. Our vision is to be the beacon for organisations that want to work together to build a more resilient Bath and the surrounding area. We hope this newsletter will share our work and act as a source of celebration and inspiration.
In this edition, issued in December 2018, you can find a special welcome from our CEO, David Hobdey, along with news about St John’s, a behind the scenes look into our Funding Support Programme, and other hidden gems.

The newsletter is designed to be read and shared online, rather than as a printed document. This is also part of our commitment always to make our money count and to work towards our ambition of being a paperless organisation.
We hope that this will make it more eye-catching and easy to share with your own contacts – so please do feel free to pass it along!
Thank you for taking the time to read The Beacon and please do get in touch if there is something you would like us to feature in the next edition.
