HRH The Duchess of Cornwall has been our Royal Patron since July 2009. She is a passionate advocate for the disadvantaged and those in need. Her Royal Highness most recently visited us on 31 January 2017, to officially open Rosenberg House and we are immensely proud of her continuing support.

Ben’s earlier career began as a Finance Director for the global Salon Professional division at Procter and Gamble (P&G). During his 12 years there, he worked in a variety of finance roles in the UK and Western Europe.
In 2007, he spent 6 years as a Finance Director of Boots, UK & Ireland before being appointed Managing Director of Boots Opticians in October 2013.
Currently living in Bath with his wife and two children, Ben is now the President of the European Region at Clarks, where is he responsible for leading a business of 10,000 people operating across 27 markets.
Ben is also a board member of the British Retail Consortium, where he chairs the Audit & Risk Committee. He is a trustee of the National Literacy Trust, which works to improve the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in the UK’s most disadvantaged communities. In addition to this, he is also a member of the Retail Advisory Group of the digital charity box, Pennies.
Peter joined the Board in 2010
Previous roles include, Chair of The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases NHS Foundation Trust in Bath and Chief Executive of the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability in London. Prior to this, Peter had a career in the Royal Navy.
Peter has lived in Bath since 1986 and brings experience of both the independent, Health and Charity sectors to the Trustee role.
David, a Chartered Accountant, joined the Board in 2016.
In December 2010, he stepped down as Managing Director for Wilts Wholesale Electrical Co Limited after 22 years with the company; during this time, he steered the company through a successful period of growth, increasing its turnover during this period to over £100 million.
Locally, he has served as Chair of the Audit Committee at Sirona Care & Health, as well as Bath Foodbank and, in 2014, spent a year in Albania helping to set up a school for young children.
Harriet joined the Board in 2010.
She is Director of Health Care and Support at Curo, and leads on innovative care and support services. Previously, she was involved in one of the UK’s first mentoring schemes for young offenders in Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
In other roles, she set up arts-based education and engagement programmes for the homeless when at The Big Issue Foundation and, on re-locating to the South West, co- wrote a housing strategy with people with learning difficulties living in South Gloucestershire.
Ian joined the Board in 2008 and also serves as a member of the Finance & General Purposes Committee.
He is Actuary and Director of a leading wealth management firm and has a professional background in investment and finance
In addition to his financial experience, Ian has a particular interest in the care, both spiritual and physical, of our residents and beneficiaries, prompted by his own Christian faith and values.
Ken joined the Board in 2016.
Ken’s started his career in commercial banking with HSBC where he championed customer service and helped change the attitude within the retail bank. Subsequent roles included Chief Executive of Hamptons International, Senior Vice President at Citi-Financial, Managing Director of MG Capital which he floated on AIM (Alternative Investment Market) and CEO of AIM listed ILX Group. In 2009, he was recognised for his work with ILX Group at the Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards where he was a regional winner.
In 2012, Ken was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of the Notting Hill charity, Westway Trust.
Current appointments include Non-Executive Chairman of JL Corporate Ltd and Associate Mentor at Mentore Consulting LLP.
Ken is active in the startup space, where he co-founded Moncrief London, a luxury fashion brand. He describes himself as “A commercial banker by profession; an entrepreneur by choice”
Moira joined the Board in 2014.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Following an executive career in finance at AstraZeneca and Royal Mail, her more recent roles have included Trustee of the Royal Mail Senior Executive Pension Fund and 10 years as Non-Executive Director at the Royal United Hospital Bath.
Nick joined the Board in 2010.
His first career was mending aircraft in the Royal Navy. He was then ordained into the Church of England spending 20 years in the parochial ministry, and finishing as the Ecumenical Officer for the Diocese of Bath and Wells.
For twenty years he has been involved in Social Housing, having been a Non-Executive Director in Evesham & Pershore and Knightstone Housing Associations.
Richard joined the Board in 2016.
He is a private investor with a professional background of over 30 years in finance and investment. He has led investment research teams whilst working in the UK, USA and Singapore.
Richard has lived in Bath since 2013 and supports and participates in several local community organisations.
Bob joined the Board in 2008.
Bob is a Chartered Surveyor with a long association with Bath property, having been a partner at King Sturge, and an adviser to government organisations, corporate sector, and high asset value individuals.
Since retiring from full-time work in 2008, Bob has focused his time on property consultancy work and social housing. He was Chair of Southwestern Housing for 7 years, and is currently a member of Wiltshire Council Housing Board.
Sarah joined the Board in 2010.
From 1997 to 2012, she was Chief Executive of Dorothy House Hospice Care and, prior to this, chaired a major care home charity in South London and was Trustee of a grant-making trust for convalescent care.
A nurse by profession, Sarah has wide clinical and senior management experience. She is currently Chair of Bath-based charity Developing Health and Independence, and a volunteer with Health Watch Wiltshire.

David joined St John’s in 2016 following a finance-based business career spanning professional practice, industry and commerce and the NHS.
Before joining St John’s, David spent six years at Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust (‘Musgrove Park Hospital’), where he was Director of Finance and, prior to that, spent five years as finance director in the medical devices industry.
David first qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and initially specialized in corporate finance advisory work, subsequently working in the corporate stockbroking and merchant banking sectors and, later, as Corporate Finance Partner for an independent firm of accountants in Yorkshire.

Louise is Director of Funding and Impact at St John’s; a role that is diverse and principally manages the operational delivery of the Foundation. A key member of St John’s since 2003, she leads the Foundation’s £2m annual Funding Support Programme, and the Independent Living and Community Outreach Services.
Louise has worked extensively across the Third Sector. She has wide-ranging experience and knowledge of the needs of people and communities in Bath and the surrounding area and she excels at building relationships and working with charities, individuals and like-minded organisations to create sustainable long-term solutions .
Louise demonstrates strong leadership, and guides the work the Foundation delivers through its almshouses, Community Outreach and Independent Living Services.
Operationally, Louise led the design and implementation of Salesforce, a dynamic, user-friendly funding programme, which has enabled the Foundation to increase its annual Funding Awards from £400k to £2m, helping to support thousands of beneficiaries across Bath and the surrounding area.

James joined us in 2011 and has gained an in-depth knowledge of the Foundation's direct property portfolio, and of the organisation as a whole.
In April 2018, he was appointed as Director of Property, which will enable him to take a more strategic view of the portfolio and the organisation, having played a fundamental part in shaping the investment property portfolio and how it sits alongside the other investment assets of the Foundation.
James qualified as a Chartered Surveyor whilst working for a property-owning Charity in Northamptonshire. Since then he has worked for / advised a number of private property owners, a large not-for-profit property owning organisation, as well as also having being an equity partner in his own property consultancy firm.
