Combe Park
Close to the Royal United Hospital in the pleasant suburb of Weston, nestles Combe Park – the most modern of St John’s Almshouses. It was opened in 2003 by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and shortly afterwards was awarded an Almshouse Association Patron's Award for design and development, a real feather in the Charity’s cap.
Built to an excellent specification, Combe Park provides 54 modern flats, several of which are designed for couples, within an attractive setting and beautiful grounds. The dedicated Maintenance Team, consisting of carpenters, electricians, plumbers and gardeners, continually work to create an enjoyable homely environment, whilst the Activities Co-ordinator makes sure everyone has something to look forward to, whether it is Tai Chi or Flexercise or simply a shopping trip to a local supermarket. A Chaplain provides spiritual and pastoral care, when required, and regular church services take place within the main building. There is a permanent team of Care and Support Workers on duty around the clock, assisting residents when they need it.
